You will coordinate tax and accounting deliverables, review work prepared by junior colleagues, communicate directly with clients, identify tax and accounting issues, and contribute to improving the efficiency and quality of clients' compliance processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Review general ledger accounts and reconciliations, including tax accounts, receivables, payables, fixed assets, payroll-related accounts and other significant balances.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and ensure appropriate reconciliation between accounting and tax reporting.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of statutory financial statements and statistical reporting.
  • Assist clients with the accounting and tax treatment of foreign economic activity, including cross-border purchases and sales, imports and exports, and transactions with non-residents.
  • Support clients with accounting and reporting issues arising from complex or non-routine transactions.
  • Where relevant, contribute to reconciliations between local statutory accounting records and group or IFRS reporting requirements.

Tax registrations and regulatory matters

  • Assist local and foreign companies with tax registrations and deregistrations in Uzbekistan.
  • Support foreign businesses in establishing appropriate tax and accounting compliance processes for their Uzbekistan operations, including representative offices and permanent establishments.
  • Assist with VAT and other relevant registrations of foreign companies where required under Uzbekistan legislation.
  • Support clients in communications with tax, statistics and other competent authorities on compliance and reporting matters.
  • Assist clients in responding to routine requests and notifications received from the tax authorities.

Client and engagement management

  • Act as a day-to-day contact for assigned clients and coordinate the timely collection of information required for tax and accounting deliverables.
  • Plan and monitor recurring compliance activities to ensure that statutory reporting obligations are completed accurately and within applicable deadlines.
  • Communicate identified tax and accounting issues to clients clearly and provide practical recommendations.
  • Manage several client engagements and reporting deadlines simultaneously.
  • Maintain effective cooperation with finance, accounting and tax teams of local and international clients.

Team supervision and development

  • Review tax calculations, returns, accounting records and other deliverables prepared by junior team members.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior consultants.
  • Allocate and monitor tasks within the engagement team.
  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with agreed procedures and internal quality standards.
  • Provide constructive feedback and contribute to the professional development of junior colleagues.

Process improvement and technology

  • Identify opportunities to standardise, automate and improve tax compliance and accounting processes.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of tax compliance calendars, templates, checklists and reconciliation procedures.
