Data Center Technician (Electrical / Mechanical / HVAC / BMS)

About the Role

DataVolt is looking for skilled and motivated Data Center Technicians (Electrical / Mechanical / HVAC / BMS) to join our Data Center Operations team in Tashkent.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical data center infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable, and continuous operations.

We welcome candidates with experience in electrical systems, mechanical equipment, HVAC, building automation, and industrial maintenance. Previous data center experience is an advantage but is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and maintain critical data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, and building management systems.

• Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures.

• Identify equipment faults, investigate alarms, and support troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities.

• Monitor equipment performance and operational parameters to ensure system reliability.

• Respond to technical incidents and escalate critical issues to the engineering team.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, operational logs, and shift handover documentation.

• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and equipment vendors during maintenance activities.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit to Work (PTW).

• Support uninterrupted 24/7 data center operations.

Technical Specializations

Candidates should have practical experience in at least one of the following areas:

Electrical Systems

• UPS systems, diesel generators, electrical distribution panels, PDUs, and associated equipment.

• Low-voltage electrical systems, circuit protection, and electrical troubleshooting.

• Electrical equipment inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance.

Mechanical Systems

• Pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, and other mechanical equipment.

• Mechanical equipment inspection, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

• Rotating equipment, mechanical components, and associated systems.

HVAC Systems

• Chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, air handling units, and cooling systems.

• Chilled water systems, pumps, ventilation, and temperature control.

• HVAC equipment maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting.

BMS / Controls Systems

• Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA, and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM).

• Monitoring and troubleshooting alarms, sensors, and control systems.

• Building automation, instrumentation, and control equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on technical experience in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, BMS, Automation, or a related discipline.

• Technical diploma, vocational qualification, or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Automation, or a related field.

• Practical experience in equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.

• Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.

• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and technical maintenance standards.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical operations team.

• Fluency in English, Russian, and Uzbek.

• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in data centers, power plants, industrial facilities, telecommunications, hospitals, or other mission-critical environments.

• Experience working with UPS, generators, cooling systems, industrial equipment, BMS, or SCADA.

• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

• Knowledge of LOTO, PTW, and relevant HSE procedures.

• Relevant technical or safety certifications.
