Key Responsibilities:
- Source and negotiate dry van freight directly with street brokers
- Plan, assign, and monitor routes for OTR drivers to maximize efficiency and on-time delivery
- Communicate with drivers throughout their trips regarding schedules, delays, and route changes
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers to secure consistent, well-paying dry van freight
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and company safety policies
- Build strong working relationships with drivers to support retention and satisfaction
- Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience in trucking, OTR freight, or logistics
- Established relationships with street brokers and freight boards (DAT, Truckstop.com, etc.) a strong plus
- Strong communication, negotiation and multitasking skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency with dispatch/TMS software and standard office tools
- Ability to problem-solve under pressure and manage multiple drivers/routes simultaneously
- Strong geographic and route-planning knowledge
