Team Lead / Operations Supervisor — Mandarin, English, Russian & Uzbek

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Team Lead / Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily workflow and operations of an established international team based in Tashkent.

Our project has been operational for several months and is continuing to grow. The successful candidate will take responsibility for supervising the Uzbekistan-based team, maintaining operational standards, coordinating daily workflow, and serving as an important communication bridge between our local team and U.S.-based management.

This is a hands-on leadership position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of operations, manage people effectively, identify problems before they become serious issues, communicate confidently with international management, and maintain a high standard of professionalism.

The successful candidate will work in a U.S.-oriented corporate environment while being based in our Tashkent office.

Language Requirements — Mandatory

This position requires professional fluency in four languages:

🇨🇳 Mandarin Chinese — HSK 6 or higher

🇺🇸 English — IELTS 7.0 or equivalent

🇷🇺 Russian — C2 / Fluent

🇺🇿 Uzbek — Native

The ability to switch naturally and confidently between all four languages is essential.

English and Mandarin will be particularly important for communication with U.S.-based management and international operations, while Russian and Uzbek will be essential for effective communication and leadership within the local team.

Candidates who do not meet the required level across all four languages will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the team

Monitor attendance, punctuality, schedules, breaks, and workforce availability

Ensure employees follow established procedures and operational standards

Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members

Coach employees and provide constructive performance feedback

Identify performance concerns and address them appropriately

Support conflict resolution within the team

Maintain a professional, respectful, and productive workplace environment

Lead by example and maintain high standards of work ethic and professionalism

Operations Management

Oversee the team’s daily workflow and ensure assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and on time

Monitor workload distribution and operational coverage

Identify bottlenecks, recurring problems, and workflow inefficiencies

Escalate operational issues to management when necessary

Ensure instructions from U.S.-based management are understood and implemented correctly

Help improve existing procedures and workflows

Maintain accurate operational records and reports

Assist management with workforce planning as the project continues to grow

U.S. Client Communication

Serve as a key communication point between the Uzbekistan team and U.S.-based management

Participate in meetings and discussions with U.S.-based stakeholders

Communicate operational updates, challenges, and escalations clearly

Translate and communicate instructions between international and local teams when necessary

Ensure important information is communicated accurately without delays or misunderstandings

Maintain professional communication standards when representing the Uzbekistan operation

Performance & Quality

Monitor team performance and work quality

Identify employees who require additional coaching or support

Track relevant performance indicators and operational metrics

Provide management with regular updates regarding team performance and operational issues

Assist with employee onboarding and training

Help establish and maintain consistent quality standards across the team

Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

Mandarin Chinese — HSK 6+

English — IELTS 7.0+ or equivalent

Russian — C2 / Fluent

Uzbek — Native

Previous experience in a Team Lead, Supervisor, Operations, Senior Specialist, Coordinator, Customer Service, Call Center, BPO, or similar leadership position

Proven experience managing or coordinating a team

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational and time-management abilities

Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Ability to handle sensitive or difficult situations professionally

Strong computer literacy and ability to work with multiple systems and platforms

Ability to communicate confidently with U.S.-based management

Willingness to work according to U.S. business hours

Preferred Experience

We will give preference to candidates with:

Previous experience working with U.S.-based companies

Experience in outsourcing, outstaffing, BPO, call center, customer service, or shared-service environments

Experience managing multilingual teams

Experience working directly with international management

Experience with performance monitoring and reporting

Experience with quality assurance and process improvement

Experience training and developing employees

Strong conflict-resolution and people-management skills

Working Schedule

Monday – Friday

19:00 – 03:00

The position is office-based in Tashkent.

Our operations function as an extension of U.S.-based business operations, therefore the team works according to the U.S. Eastern Time schedule.

Working hours may be adjusted during the year due to changes in the U.S. Daylight Saving Time schedule.

Candidates must be comfortable working evening and late-night hours on a permanent basis.

Compensation

Competitive fixed hourly rate based on experience and suitability for the position.

The final compensation package will be discussed with shortlisted candidates during the recruitment process.

Training & Onboarding

You will receive comprehensive onboarding regarding the client’s operations, internal procedures, systems, workflow, and expectations.

Industry-specific experience is not necessarily required if you demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

The successful candidate will be expected to quickly understand the operation and progressively take ownership of team supervision and daily workflow.
