Position Overview
The Academic Coordinator / Vice Principal is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of a U.S.-style curriculum in alignment with international accreditation standards and national educational requirements of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee instruction in accordance with the American educational model, including Cognia and Cambridge frameworks
- Coordinate the academic process in alignment with the IGS U.S.-style curriculum model
- Ensure academic quality control in compliance with Cognia and Cambridge standards
- Align curricula with the State Educational Standards of the Republic of Uzbekistan (curriculum alignment)
- Monitor classroom instruction and provide methodological and professional support to faculty
- Oversee grading systems, academic integrity policies, and student progress monitoring
- Prepare documentation for accreditation processes and governmental inspections
- Develop and maintain academic plans and syllabi in accordance with the IGS academic framework
- Develop and approve class schedules and the academic calendar
- Conduct classroom observations and provide structured professional feedback
- Ensure compliance with grading policies, including formative and summative assessments
- Analyze student academic performance and prepare analytical reports
- Ensure compliance with national regulations regarding subject requirements, instructional hours, and academic documentation
- Participate in Cognia Self-Study processes and Cambridge inspections
- Establish academic and methodological standards for faculty
- Propose and implement initiatives to enhance educational quality
- Ensure compliance with both international and national educational standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of academic leadership experience in an international school setting
- Experience working with Cognia, Cambridge, and/or a U.S. curriculum framework
- Fluency in Uzbek and English (knowledge of Russian is an advantage)
- Demonstrated leadership skills and strong organizational abilities
