Chief Geologist

Responsibilities:

– Higher education in petroleum geology or drilling of oil and gas wells;

– At least 15 years of overall professional experience in the oil and gas sector, including no less than 7 years in senior managerial positions (CEO, Head of Exploration & Production, etc.);

– Knowledge of international standards API, ISO, IADC;

– Experience working with digital monitoring systems (Real-Time Drilling Data, WellView, Landmark, Petrel, etc.);

– Advanced proficiency in English (C1 level); knowledge of Russian is preferred;

– Foreign specialists (expats) or citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan with 5 or more years of work experience in leading foreign or international oil and gas companies (Shell, CNPC, ENI, Saudi Aramco, Sinopec, PetroChina, ExxonMobil, QatarEnergy, Tatneft, Petronas, Lukoil, Gazprom, SOCAR, PetroVietnam, Schlumberger, etc.).

Requirements:

– Developing a unified technical policy, conducting analysis and assessing the effectiveness of geological exploration (GE); developing and advancing new prospective GE projects;

– Analyzing and expanding the company’s hydrocarbon resource base, preparing development proposals, and identifying the most efficient directions for GE activities;

– Preparation of annual, mid-term, and long-term forecasts for GE development, target programs, and identification of strategic and priority areas;

– Formulation, coordination, and approval of GE and drilling programs, ensuring their implementation and coordination;

– Monitoring the current status of GE and drilling operations, and making decisions based on operational analysis;

– Determining and approving the locations of prospecting, exploration, and parametric wells, and organizing drilling operations;

– Development and implementation of new 3D seismic survey projects, overseeing their monitoring;

– Decision-making and approval of reports on the drilling of prospecting, exploration, parametric, and production wells, as well as on the conducting of geophysical surveys;

– Decision-making on well operations (GIS, GTR, GDI, GCI, PVR, etc.);

– Analysis of interactions with contractor organizations within the framework of GE and drilling programs;

– Control and assurance of accelerated drilling performance by drilling contractors;

– Development of proposals to improve the organization of GE activities;

– Monitoring compliance with environmental, sanitary, labor protection, and fire safety regulations;

– Selection, placement, and professional development of highly qualified personnel, including the development of motivation measures;

– Improving organizational efficiency, enhancing the effectiveness of field and office operations based on international best practices;

– Applying advanced foreign technologies, modern methods, and innovative solutions in GE and drilling operations;

– Development and implementation of measures to improve the efficiency of GE and drilling activities;

– Participation in tenders, competitive selections, and other GE-related events, improving the efficiency of contractor selection;

– Organizing and coordinating the work of commissions, committees, and working groups related to GE;

– Ensuring compliance with decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, government resolutions, and internal company directives;

– Preparation and coordination of draft government resolutions and internal regulatory documents related to GE and drilling;

– Timely submission of reports on GE and drilling operations to relevant ministries and agencies;

– Representing the company’s interests on GE and drilling issues before external organizations;

– Receiving information and documentation from structural divisions of the company regarding GE and drilling;

– Reviewing and approving geological-technical designs and cost estimates for the construction of oil and gas wells;

– Coordination of prospecting, exploration, and production well projects and evaluation of results;

– Developing and approving optimal well designs for drilling;

– Analysis of additional costs associated with unforeseen geological complications;

– Preparation of orders and instructions related to GE and drilling operations and monitoring their execution;

– Participation in meetings, sessions of the Supervisory Board, and other committees on GE and drilling matters;

– Possessing analytical thinking, responsibility, stress tolerance, accuracy, teamwork skills, and the ability to work in a multitasking environment;

– Knowledge of regulatory and legal acts on management, safety, labor protection, ecology, and industrial safety that define the priority directions for the development of the oil and gas sector.
